Today's video, I was asked a question about why there is no standard monsters in Palladium Fantasy, much like how D&D has the monster manuals and basic stat blocks for creatures. Tim wanted to know, so I decided to do a video on it, trying to answer why? I also give an example of what I write down when creating creature encounters for my daily adventure.
The long of the short here is that Palladium does have a monsters book, but its not with creatures you'd expect. Monsters and animals does have some basic creatures in there, but you wont find, Goblins, Orcs, Kobolds or any of the fodder monsters you'd find in say D&D. Which is kind of weird as the original fantasy was based off of AD&D. Listen, I don't the exact reasoning behind it, but I do like that those standard fodder monsters aren't written up, as it gives the GM a chance to custom tailor the baddies to what he needs for the adventure, it also does keep it fresh if players themselves don't exact know will this goblin be the same as the last?
