CHI-Town has risen while Old Chicago has become a supernatural ruin. Tolkeen and the Xiticix fight for survival in the north. Texas has become a land of Coalition experiments, Pecos Raiders and independent kingdoms. Mexico is vampire country. St. Louis sits at the heart of the Magic Zone with a permanent Rift beneath the Gateway Arch. Florida is underwater. Georgia has dinosaurs. And somehow, Northern Gun is still cranking out enough weapons to make America proud. But the strangest part of RIFTS Earth may be what happened between all these places. Civilization is fragmented. Communication is limited. Huge stretches of wilderness separate settlements and kingdoms. Rumors matter because sometimes the only way to find out what is really over the next horizon is to go there yourself.
That makes RIFTS more than giant robots fighting dragons. It makes RIFTS Earth one hell of a frontier.
